When I became conscious again, my body ached like it had been run over by a dump truck. I could not help but sob quietly, and the sound of my weeping echoed inside the room.

There was no trace of anybody else inside the room. The twins had already left, and I didn’t know where they had gone. A feeling of terror suddenly rose up, and it felt like I had somehow been abandoned by the world. With difficulty, I tried shifting my body while thinking to check whether the door had been locked.

Suddenly, I discovered that each of my wrists and ankles were bound with very thin metal shackles and chains. There was a metal collar around my neck, and a thin chain connected the collar on one end to a brass bedpost on the other. They shimmered with a chilling and sharp silvery white light.

What was this? Why was all this on my body?

“No…” I wept bitterly and yanked at the chains that restrained me. I wanted them to snap and I wanted them off my body, but they were exceptionally sturdy. Using my strength, I wasn’t even close to breaking free of them.

Terror, fear, grievance, and sorrow simultaneously erupted from within me. I crumbled onto the large bed and cried bitterly.

I had no idea how much time had passed, but eventually the door opened and the twins walked in. It looked like they had freshened themselves up already, and they were wearing matching polo shirts with relaxed and satisfied styles. There were smiles on their faces, but those smiles hid a trace of sinister, destructive malevolence.

“Awake? Did you see the new gift we got you? Do you like it?” Zhao Yi Bo leisurely sat down beside the bed, and he patted my head with his large hand. It was like he was appeasing an angry kitten.

“This is way beyond the line! I’m not your toy, and you can’t treat me like this! You can’t keep me captive! It’s illegal!” I shouted at them painfully.

“My sweet little Qing Xia, do you really think you’ll have the opportunity to report to the police and say that we’re illegally keeping you captive?” Zhao Yi Xuan arrived at the bedside and began provoking me.

“How long are you going to keep me here?” I asked fearfully.

“Forever! We told you that you would be ours forever, remember?” Zhao Yi Bo leaned close to my face and started to lightly plant kisses on my face.

“I’m already yours. We’re married, aren’t we?” I ducked away from his kiss, and hastily tried to reason with them.

“But this naughty little kitten keeps trying to run away. There’s no choice but to lock her up with chains.” His kisses started to drift downwards to the graceful curves of my neck.

“I didn’t! I really won’t ever run away again! Please let me go!” I pleaded with them as I wept.

It was true. I really didn’t intend to run anymore. Yan Bo Nian’s words had caused me to think a lot. Were the moral rules and regulations of the world more important, or was my own happiness more important? In the past, I always thought that the rules and regulations of the world were more important, but I didn’t think this way anymore. Our feelings for each other didn’t hurt anybody else, so why couldn’t it exist?

Why is God so cruel to me? Why do I have to suffer from their marring and toying when I’ve already decided that I’ll live together with them?

“You don’t like this present? But it’s so beautiful, and it looks so lovely on your body.” Zhao Yi Xuan lifted the metal chain connecting my two wrists, and delicately began stroking it.

They were beautiful, and the craftsmanship was meticulous. The style was intricate, and you could tell that it must have been handcrafted by a famous jeweler. If they hadn’t been shackles that were used to restrict my freedom, I would have liked them a lot and treasured them deeply. But right now I only felt hatred for them, and I wanted them to shatter apart right at this instant.

I yanked on them again, hoping that they might snap. The slender chains only chafed at my skin from the force, and they sank deeply into my skin.

“Don’t waste your energy.” Zhao Yi Xuan grabbed my wrists with both of his hands and stopped me from tugging at the chains. “These were manufactured with special materials. This thin little chain can bear more than two tons of weight, and no ordinary person can break it.”

“Let me go! Let me go!” I madly struggled. I am a person, not livestock. I don’t want to be locked up in chains.

“If you hadn’t betrayed our trust over and over again, they never would have appeared on your body. You chose them yourself.” Zhao Yi Bo heartlessly said this, and then landed on top of me.

A violent storm then took my fragile body by force once again.

Not knowing how much time had passed, I woke up again from a deep haze. From the extreme violence and passion, my body ached and I felt pain everywhere. I didn’t have the energy to move my body, and I didn’t have the will to struggle uselessly. I opened my eyes and blankly stared at the enormous mirror on the ceiling as tears silently dripped from my eyes, soaking the pillow.

There were no windows inside this room, and no sunlight reached this dark corner. I had no idea whether it was day or night, and I had no clue how long I had been in this room already. I didn’t even want to think about how long I might stay here in the future.

The door opened once again, and I didn’t even look at who had walked in. I didn’t care to know who in the world it was either, because no matter who it was, it definitely wasn’t an angel who had come to save me.

“Miss, you should eat some of this.” Mama Yu’s kind voice sounded inside the room. She placed a platter full with food on the short bedside table, and then sat down on the side of the bed as she gently helped me up.

I didn’t react at all, like a puppet that had lost its soul.

“Ai… The young masters were too crude. Your body is covered in bruises.” Mama Yu gently draped a thin blanket over me with pity, then picked up some food from the bedside table and began to feed me.

Hollow, I consumed bite after bite of food that came to my lips.

It did not take long before the food that Mama Yu brought was finished. Seeing that I still had no reaction, Mama Yu picked up the tray with a sigh and walked out.

A nauseating feeling crept up my throat, and I opened my mouth and immediately vomited out everything I just ate. Sour and acrid vomit landed on the floor beside the bed, splashed on the thin blanket covering my body, and splattered over the tender, bare skin of my naked body.

A burning feeling welled up inside my abdomen, and I crumbled onto the bed in pain and curled up into a tight ball.
